Guide · Copying a trader

The If you had copied simulator

A replay of the last 30 days at an allocation you choose, per copy mode, with the capital it would actually have tied up and the minimum wallet the mode requires.

Every trader page carries a panel called If you had copied. Pick a copy mode, move the slider to the size you would realistically use, and it replays the last 30 days of that trader's activity at that size.

Estimated 30-day P/L
What the mirrored sequence would have produced at the size you selected.
Capital actually bound
How much of your money would have been committed at the peak, which is usually the number people underestimate.
Minimum wallet for this mode
The point below which this mode cannot follow this trader accurately. Setting the slider under it produces a configuration that will not work in practice.

Switching modes with the slider left where it is is the fastest way to see the point of the whole product. The same trader, the same window, the same money, and two different results.

The replay is honest about what it is not. It is a deposit-adjusted projection over the window rather than a trade-by-trade reconstruction, very short trades are penalised to account for copy latency, and part of a trader's exposure may have opened before the window began, which means the real minimum can be higher than the one shown.

Historical replay is not a guarantee. It tells you the shape and the cost of copying a strategy, not what the next 30 days will do.
