Copy modes, and why the same trader scores differently

The same wallet can be excellent to mirror one way and poor another. hypeRank scores every trader separately for each copy mode rather than producing a single number.

Most copy trading products ask one question: is this trader good? That question is incomplete. A trader you copy proportionally and the same trader you copy at a fixed dollar amount per order are, from your account's point of view, two different propositions with two different outcomes.

So hypeRank does not produce a single number per wallet. Every trader is evaluated separately under each copy mode, and the trader page shows all of those scores side by side rather than only the best one.

Proportional — available now
Your position sizes scale with your allocation, in proportion to the trader's own exposure. The trader's sense of position sizing carries over to you; their account size does not.
Fixed $ — available now
A fixed dollar amount per order, on the way in and on the way out. Every opening order commits the same amount regardless of how large the trader's position is, and closing orders work the same way, so a trader who exits in stages is followed out in equal steps rather than proportionally.
Manual ratio — scored, not yet copyable
You pick a single multiplier and every trade is sized by it. If the trader opens a position worth ten thousand dollars and your multiplier is one tenth, yours is worth one thousand. Neither your allocation nor their account size changes that number.
Fixed leverage — scored, not yet copyable
Positions are mirrored one to one against a leverage setting you control.

All four modes are scored today so you can compare them. Two of them, proportional and fixed dollar, can be used to copy right now. The other two are coming; until then their scores are there for comparison rather than for selection.

The differences are not cosmetic. A trader who scales aggressively into a few high-conviction positions can be strong proportionally and weak at a fixed amount per order, because the fixed version flattens exactly the sizing that produced their edge. A trader who takes many similar-sized positions is often the reverse: the fixed version tracks them closely, while the proportional version amplifies whichever position happened to be largest.

The Copy-Mode Fit panel on every trader page shows one score per mode. A star marks the best-fitting mode for that wallet. A mode marked gated means a safety filter excludes this trader under that strategy, which is a stronger statement than a low score: it means we would not copy them that way at all.

Each mode also carries its own minimum wallet size, shown on the same page. A trader can be reachable with a small account in one mode and require several times that in another. The minimum is not a recommendation, it is the point below which the mode stops being able to follow the trader accurately.

To see what a mode would have meant for your own account size, use the If you had copied panel on the trader page. It replays the window at an allocation you choose and shows the result per mode.
